Someone, Somewhere

Someone, Somewhere

A Poem by Melissa Kester

From stone and earth you stand up tall
You keep me grounded when chaos falls
Your patience astounds me, your surety and will
You are the mountain that keeps me still
When my battles run high and I fill with fear
You are the one to kiss away my tears
Like a breeze from the far off land you're in
You are the wind that caresses my skin
When I'm feeling weak, like I can't go on
Your reassurance keeps me strong
You lay me a path made of stones
You are the strength that fills my bones
And when I fear I may lose control
You hold me through the waves and don't let go
And though the ocean keeps us apart
You are the sea in which I've lost my heart
When the darkness tries to lay its claim
You are the warrior that fights the pain
And though in this darkness I might roam
You are my star that guides me home
