To Those Who Suffer

This poem is for everyone who suffers from anxiety, depression, ptsd, etc. There is a bright side somewhere, you just have to find it.

The darkness overwhelms
It takes the light and swallows
It suffocates all senses
And creeps into the shallows

But in this darkness find
A single glowing light
Keep this flame burning
With ever fiber, fight

For beyond the heavy darkness
Light is surely real
Seek and swim, fight and breath
In this light you can heal

Break free of the surface
Take a breath of fresh air
On the shore lies freedom
From the darkness everywhere

In this new light, live
Love, laugh, and be free
Don't let the darkness take hold again
In this light, there is peace
