A Poem by Melissa Kester

It was painful.
The splitting of my soul.
Excruciating.
But now... Now I am not one. But two.
I am two souls.
I leave one in body to live that life I am supposed to live. The life in which I am endlessly stuck.
And the other?
My other soul is simply that. Energy. Not confined by the rules of this realm. Free to roam - to fly where I please.
And the first place I will go is to you.
To take you with me.
To see the world. To see the universe. To know. To be.
Together.
