Free Me

Free Me

A Poem by Melissa Kester

Free me from these talons
That close so tightly around my neck
Slowly cutting, slicing my flesh as tendrils of warm red liquid drips down my chest
Free me from the grasp
Of ever-looming death
Silently creeping up my spine and slithering into my heart
Free me from this fear
From the looming darkness ahead
Don't let the demons drag my soul to hell
Free me
I beg
I plead
Release me

Great imagery that supports your themes in this poem. It has just the right amount of Gothic darkness to it. Good job, Melissa!
