Panic Attack

Panic Attack

A Poem by Melissa Kester

The sun shines so brightly for days on end

Until the clouds roll in

The sky darkens - turns to black and grey

Then comes the rain

The world becomes drenched and floods

When the thunder drums

The ground trembles and gripes

And then the lightning strikes

Chaotic fires blaze and scorch

Until the wind whirls

Spirals of destruction lay siege and bomb

And then sets the calm

We pick up the pieces and get back to the norm

And wait for the next storm
