Wanted

Wanted

A Poem by Melissa Kester

Flames spiral from your lips
your teeth rotting from your lies
Despair follows your every quip
as embers fall from ashen skies
Smog seeps from your very breath
my life, for you, I'll waive
Gracefully you lead the dance of death
guiding me to my grave
Buried in Earth my skin will decay
my soul forever haunted
I'll yearn for you every day
you were all I ever wanted
The days will pass on by
lonely I will wait
Your lies will slowly die
your heart will surely ache
When your day finally comes
and you finally see the reaper
When your world finally numbs
just know that he's my keeper
He came for you on my beseech
a day he long daunted
The day you would finally see
I was all you ever wanted
