Lost abuse

Lost abuse

A Poem by G. Writing
"

He played with my heart until I had nothing left in me. He made me wait for him to love me. He streaked my happiness leaving me in tears after every phone call. He left me bare.

"
She fell in love with the thought of him
He fell in love with selfishness
He stripped her love
Leaving her broken
A woman of lost wonder
A man who abused emotion
She gave him everything
He held her close
She was vulnerable
He took advantage
He used her
He controlled her emotions
Like a rewind button on a remote control
He held her high
chained with chains
He confused her
Taking everything she had
He saw her scars
He saved her from suicide
To keep her around
Entertaining his bitterness towards love
He's empty
He didn't want to be alone
He dragged her under cold water
Leaving her ghost
She felt used
The darkness of his touch
Sparked anger
He saw life in her for his darkest days
He saw life in her for his own completeness
He tore apart her heart
Finding the little life she had left
He took it away
He built himself back to whole
He abused her mind
He had her wait
Waiting for the day he will give his heart
Giving her hope
They'll be together
She knew it wouldn't work
He was another broken soul
She still did it
She was left with a broken body
That craved love
But love to her was him and he was lost

Great write - the dominance of the word 'he' adds to the taker's role in this one-sided relationship - 'she' on the other hand, demonstrates an obsession of hoping all things will turn out for the best - but in reality - well your poignant prose says it all ... :-)
