Mountain WinterA Poem by MelanieAnn"And that mountain winter winds deeper into the forest than any other, falling into a wave of beauty like none of them had ever seen."
And that mountain upon winter,
Holds winds chillier than any other, Holds the magic of snow that nips at the atmosphere, That makes white glitter up on those tall ridges of that mountain. I don't think on why it's different, Or why it's magic, Or what makes it so wondrous. I only think on why it's beautiful, As the sky meets mountain And together, they melt into one like icing on a hot pastry. And that mountain upon winter Has taught us some fruitful things, Has taught us some wonderful things, And some interesting things, Then the day will come when we all have to face this mountain, Face our dreams, Our hopes, Our desires, And ask, "Am I ready to fulfill them?" So that mountain upon winter, Is your dream rising up, Higher, higher, higher into the sky of silver bone white, Meeting an infinity. They call it Mountain Winter. © 2016 MelanieAnn |
