tainted flower

tainted flower

A Poem by Crimson Rose

Red petals stain my front chest

The petals are that of the lovely rose

Red like the color that was lost from my lips

And red like the blood that began to flow

But it was not the rose but the thorns that hurt

Thorns grown from a tainted grove

That all together tainted the flower

A flower which I had chose
