Chapter Six: Alternate UniverseA Chapter by Melancholydreams“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe.”
From the nest of blankets piled on my floor, the normally low cieling looked like a vast universe to me. I turned on my back, the LED lighting from my cell lightening the darkness a tad. I scrunched my face in wonder, seeing the hiding spot in a whole new light (no pun
intended.) It brought forth memories I'd rather forget. My eyes were dry but my cheeks felt oddly damp, staring up at the illuminated cieling. You would think that when looking for someone, the the first place you would check is the closet, but apparently not my parents. It reminded me of childhood games, hide and seek, and I was never found. I thought it was a conspiracy because no one liked me and rather I hide than stay in their company. But that was surprisingly proved wrong. Sometime in the closet, I drifted off into comforting darkness, welcoming a dreamless sleep. I never dreamt anyways, but the mental image of my hiding spot being space was creative enough. © 2011 MelancholydreamsAuthor's Note
