The Attack

The Attack

A Poem by Hopelessly Confused
"

How it really feels to have a panic attack.

"

My heart starts racing.

I clench my hands into fists,

But it doesn't stop them from shaking.

My breath becomes shallow,

And my head starts to pound.

I beg for it just to end.

I choke on my words.

My body trembles like a child in the cold.

I curl up in a ball,

And tears start to roll down my face.

Minutes feel like hours,

But as quickly as it came.....

The pain fades away,

And I'm left with only the memories of the aching.

Know it won't be the last time.

this is such a personal poem (panic attacks live here with me as well).
and you have encompassed them with great creative acumen, and
this wonderful expression of the physiological trauma of panic...
Bravo my friend!!! * & * thank god for benzopdiapines ;))
