Between Us TwoA Poem by Rindouthe story of two friends, who compare each other. In competition, but do they know how the other really sees them?
I talk, you listen.
I'm fat, but you glisten. I wonder, you search. Unsure how this works. You think beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but beauty starts with value within. i say this to you, a hypocrite knowing i would kill for it. You date, I marry both of us, wary. I look to you hoping you see better, you look at me knowing i grow fatter. You look great, you say to me So do you, I say untrue, because unlike you, i know, that when you shine from within, it shows. She's gained weight, it's true but i look to boys for proof. I'm stuck in the same place, you're ahead in the race. I take comfort from boys and toys, but you settled down, i need you now. My body is my way in the world, but you seem so comfortable in yours. A baby on the way had lots of places to stay, i'm holding out for the one, but what i do know, that you think i don't is that my true beauty doesn't show.
