So This is the School Year

So This is the School Year

A Poem by Gabriel Miller

When in school
We sit and stand.
Moving nowhere, learning nothing.

When in school
We talk and chatter.
Going nowhere, achieving nothing.

When in school
Our days are wasted.
The geeks go nowhere, the jocks get nothing.

If only we learned
Achieved
And created.
Rather than summarize
Rewrite what's written
And copy other ideas.

We could then be independently individual,
Creatively self-motivated.
Rather than move nowhere and learn nothing
