Blasphemy

Blasphemy

A Poem by Mélania Woolf

"Forgive me, father, for I have sinned"

Do you hear me or have you given up to the wind?

It is Me, again, don't act as if surprised

The sinner whose name you well know

Five to a hundred damned times in a row

For my answered prayer, I plead and mourn
And display my acceptance to His throne

Yesterday, I walked by her wicked scent

stroking a scar that will never mend

To save my frightened soul, I prayed
The Lord alone saw what was ahead

"Forgive me, father, for I have sinned"

I admit these words became stained,

For I have sworn to never again falter

But this time is not like any other

Trust me, father, it's a clean starter

I told the Lord I shall sooner be back

-Oh! way too soon I shall!-

Yet, He -all merciful- still waits for a crack

I believed, father, I swear I had

Alas! For her I am going mad

She whispered "You've entered the point of no return"

Why? It's rather for her skin I shall burn ...

"Ashes to ashes and dust to dust,
Children are born, not of love, but lust."

You're natural sinners and deserve hell

if God doesn't select" me...In her eyes, I’ll dwell

Tell me, father, what does your Bible say?

Shall I write a book, declare her name my prayer?

Convince me why is your Light stronger than hers?

your fainting world against a letter in her purse

Your people fast of food, and I hunger for a grin

And what of those who felt it, too? do we share the sin?

forgive me, father, if you may, or don't excuse!

The lady now I worship, I shall suffer to amuse,

Craving to my death, her triumphant fiery arrogance

I can relate to this... balancing lust and sanity is an eternal struggle !

I like the irony with which you question your allegiance to a higher force in the light of lust.

Thank you so much.
Incredible work, it really spoke to me; I love the analysis of how we never know what the right answer truly is.

Thank you Thomas. I'm so happy to read your comment!
^^
A relations with God that visits with the craving of the flesh is always an insightful view of the human experience in respect of his choices. Your poem illustrates this well. In essence it points to your own choice in accepting him as your savior ... or have you? Your poem makes such poignant suggestions of these issues.
