It was long ago I read about you
Your ghost that haunts
The souls of letters
And the bluest blue of ink
The hearts of brave men
And the imaginations
A lady in veil once told
To her little princess child
The story of a temple
And a sweet memory
Lying in your eyes"
‘The astounding eyes of Rita
Never did a man escape’
She told, quite saddened
She’d heard it from a mother
You were too young
But never too young to be loved
Never too young to be killed
Killed with the loathing of humans
Long time ago they stole you
All innocent and frightened
You held the hand of a writer
You melted the hatred into gold
And buried it under ground
What changed then?
The way your eyes blinked
It's all the same
But where you stood?
And against who ?
It changed
Love died
And you grew
Enough to point the gun
Right to his chest
Where you once rested your head
Where you had long rested
And your eyes
They meant to steal
What was so precious to reveal
And the sound of their dirty boots
Shook the grounds and what lies beneath
Taking you far, so far away
Behind the walls of conflict
Oh Rita …
If only you fought
Now you remain
Today and forever
A muted shout
Behind the doors of poetry
The seas of longing and beauty.
