My Master

My Master

A Poem by Mekin

My master...

I am your puppet on strings.

Use me.

I am your left hand.

Abuse me.

I loved you.

But you ignore me.

I know you always overlook...

My beating heart.

I know you don't hear...

My voice.

I know you can't see...

My soul.

But I loved you.

Master, why must you torture me?

Grasping onto my chest and squeezing;

Taking my breath away.

Tell me master...

If I was to disappear,

Will you miss me?

I will forgive you...

Though you blindly hurt me.

I will think of you...

Though you never think of me.

I will always be there...

Though I know you won't care.

You tell me, "You wish."

When I say, "Miss me?"

I'm sorry I can't be beautiful.

I'm sorry I'm not smart,

and below your standards.

But I loved you.

So go on to another goddess.

Because you played me sweetly.

You gave me false hope.

Nothing but magic smoke,

And glowing lights.

It worked...

Because I loved you.

Your goddess is waiting.

That perfect beauty...

Who plays the lute that lures you;

Her frail fingers stroking each string lovely.

Her feathered wings open for the embrace.

Yes, that loving goddess.

So master...

I will disappear again.

The goddess and you will be happy.

But I know, she will vanish shortly.

And you will seek me. But this time,

I won't be there.

Because...

This is a pretty melancholy piece, but well written. So many have gone through this and I like how at the end, you said that you would leave them alone because you love him. Which really shows the power struggle between your mind and heart. It's amazing sometimes how much someone will go because they love someone. And it must be the hardest thing in the world to turn your back on someone that you love so dearly. Great write!

Thank you very much. I really wanted to cry while writing this too. But I waited 'til I was done. I'm too much of a punk to show this to him.
