Survival Revival

Survival Revival

A Poem by Melanie Jane Boicourt Shanks

Put a worm in your ear

Tell your mind not to fear

 what you hear.

See the picture in your brain.

Try to let your instinct reign,

  let it steer.

Beautiful destruction

Crashing all around.

But you have got to function

So don’t let it pull you down.

Put the tools in your hand

And then follow the plan

 ‘cause you can.

We’ve seen the evidence.

All the signs ever since

 time began.

Wonderful disaster

Creating all you see.

But time is moving faster,

Can we change our destiny?

Pull the shades from your eyes.

See the truth in the lies,

 no disguise.

Find the knowledge that you seek.

What you do will be unique.

 You are wise.

Ultimate revival,

The world's awakening.

To ensure survival,

It changes everything.

Much may be said in a few words as you have shown in your poem. The ending is especially fitting as I can relate to an ultimate revival as the world would awaken!

Interesting concepts!

not bad...good message.

rhymes were a lil simple, and concepts could use a lil more thought...

but the depth was good..nice to see some oxymorons and some motifs..

keep em coming
