Realigned

Realigned

A Poem by Melanie Jane Boicourt Shanks

I always try to see the bright side.
Allowing perspective to preside.
Seeing the silver lining in ALL.
Recognizing blessings as I fall.
My positive outlook is in check.
And that's when my life becomes a wreck.
The Universe keeps expanding it
Just as soon as I am landing it.
It increases the intensity
To keep up with my capacity.
Whenever I'm feeling more aware
I have to caution my own despair,
That may be right around the corner,
Because I feel like a foreigner
Trapped within my own body and mind,
Until, at last, I am realigned.

A love for haiku poetry began in college, inspired by its simplicity and depth. The book Blue Harlequin captures these moments beautifully. Read the full article to explore the essence of haiku poetry: https://aoidemagazine.com/what-is-haiku-poetry/

I like how the poem flows. and the last line kinda tells me that the experience is circular; as in, it will go back to line 1. Brilliant

I have been writing since I knew how. Before that I would just draw pictures to tell a story. My true passion is poetic lyrics. That is mostly what I am inspired to write. I have been dabbling in othe.. more..
