A fog

A fog

A Poem by Melanie Jane Boicourt Shanks

In life there's a fog,
and it creeps around.
It blocks your vision
and mutes the sound.
It dulls the senses.
It leaves you mute.
It lulls you astray
like a piper's flute.
Until the sun breaks through
and clears the way,
shines into your soul,
and brightens your day.
