Lonely Soul

A Poem by Mejasha Love

They bring me down to a table once or twice a day.

I know it's time when I hear the bell ring.

Other than that I'm here on display.

But I sure don't feel like a king.

It is lonely up here in this cabinet alone

with only myself and a bowl.

I bang my head on the bars and groan.

Poor me and my jungle soul.

I wrote this for a contest that had certain words that had to be used. That is why the poem seems kindof weird. Still, I think that it has meaning and insight.

A strangely enchanting piece, although I couldn't quite work out what the narrator is. P.S: Thanks for your kind review of my unacceptable poem.
