The Old Tree Pine

The Old Tree Pine

A Poem by Mehul Rwat
"

It's one of my Love Nature poems.

"

I used to walk in the woods near my home

Whenever I was free,

And once I came across an old,

Tall tree.

My favourite tree it became and I named it-

The Old Tree Pine.

It had a thick sturdy stem and leaves

Thin and fine.

I played under its shady boughs or

Just listened to a lark,

It was then I thought to etch some marks

Upon its mighty bark.

After a few months, when I returned

To the very place,

I was surprised to see- there was no mark-

They had all gone without a trace.

Then I wondered if it was like the wounds

In the soul of men,

Who nourish hatred and even

Frequently sin.

No, for their wounds never ever heal or if

All is left to fate,

They may heal but it then is generally

Too late.

However in those who can love, are kind and

Also brave and fine,

Their wounds are quick to heal- Just as in case of

The Old Tree Pine!!!

Beautiful! I love the way you penned nature and the wounds that need healing in the soul of men, and tied it into the old tree pine. Excellent work.

Blessed are they who can connect with nature, who can love and be loved.
such a positive thought shows the person you aare.
i also wrote a bit semilar write up known as 'tree that tell tales'
the observation seems a bit semilar may be because we both grew up wherebit is surrounded by the aura of forest and nature.
Its a lovely write up.keep writing.
Thanks for sharing once again.

At first I thought it was going towards being a story about growing up, but then you gave it the surprise 'moral of the story' ending. Then after I let it sink in, learning to let wounds heal instead of harboring bitterness really is a story about growing up.

This is pretty great for a first poem. I love how all your poems are about nature and this is poem is no exception. I also liked how you highlighted the words in different colours that resembled a pine tree.

There is a beauty, a child-like wonder in your writing that paints a vivid portrait of what you are feeling at the time you see the pine trees, what you feel when you brush your hand against them. This is an accomplished piece of writing.

Beautiful write.it also helps us to seethe keen insight ,a message too "the wounds of man remain open due to his nature whereas the nature forgives the sin and the sinner."keep writing

I really love this poem! Pine trees are so beautiful and the references to the mark on the tree being a wound in the soul of men. I really, really loved it! Great work and do your best! =)
