A Poem by Mehar Anaokar

Home is where the heart is
And my heart belongs to you
So will you choose to dine with me
At a candlelit table for two?

Will you be my rose by another name?
And slowly shed your thorns?
Will you hold me close to your heart?
And wrap me in your warmth?

Can we be like the movies
And have our strawberry ice cream phase?
Can we ride off into the sunset
And find our way through the maze?

Will you trust in me as I trust in you
Will you be my love song?
Can I come to you when I feel the blues
And turn you up when everything's wrong?

Can we stay this way forever?
Because I love just how we are
I can't imagine anything changing
I can't think of us apart

Will you be my knight in armour
Brandishing your knife?
I will be your Ride or Die lover
And stick with you through every fight

Can you let go of your ghosts?
I'll let go of mine,
Will you unpack all your baggage
And stay here by my side?

Home is where the heart is
And you have my heart all for your own
Because it's you that makes me smile
And makes me feel like home.

When I was reading this, I felt like my heart was dancing to these words. They were inspiring and engaging.

This is really, I mean really lyrical. It was singing throughout the read to a tune that I'll not divulge incase it influences any future use of the words.
Another good piece Mehar Anaokar.
