Second Thoughts

Second Thoughts

A Poem by Mehar Anaokar

I love your eyes, he said
And your smile is to kill for
It's just something about you
I haven't felt like this before

I love the way you look at me
I love it when you laugh
You've stolen Cupid's bow
And cut my heart in half

I love your hair, I love your smell
And your lips they taste so sweet
I love holding your hands in mine
It makes me feel complete

Oh but all we do is talk now
The conversation's getting bleak
But don't worry, I'm yours
I'll always put you before me

It's you before the world
That's how much you mean to me
I don't have another girl
You're all that makes me happy

Oh but wait, I'm busy now
Do you mind if we talk later?
Wait, not yet, not now
This conversation is over

I think we should discuss something
I don't think this is right
I won't find time for you
And I don't want to fight

....

"I'm sorry I wasn't enough for you
I'm sorry I loved you throughout
All along you were lying to me
Never giving me a second thought

I feel used, broken and foolish
I love you even after we've fought
I was sure of us, I believed
But with you it was always second thoughts"
