A Poem by Meg

Do you remember the days,
when we weren't afraid to speak?
Just you and me,
free to be whatever we wanted to be.
We ignored the petty gossip,
and found our own way.
Outside the norm,
we avoided every storm.
But now you sit there,
bitter and alone.
Staring me down,
with that pathetic little frown.
Tell me the truth,
what have I ever done to you?
I never lied,
I didn't spy,
or defy my promises like you.
It's been years since we've fought.
In fact, we've barely even talked.
So what gives you the right to judge me?
I don't want to fight,
but you have to realize that this isn't right.
I'm truly sorry it didn't last,
but our friendship is all in the past.
I hope we can at least get along.
But in your eyes,
I'll never belong.
