Don't Let Me Walk Away

Don't Let Me Walk Away

A Poem by Meg

I don't know if I can stand,
another moment without you.
When we are apart,
I can only feel the razor sharp edges,
of my forever broken heart.
Please don't let me walk away.

The idea of another women,
is enough to bring me to my knees.
I can't bare to imagine,
being just another dreaded mistake.
Just don't let me step out that door.

Bathe me in words of devotion,
until I am overflowing with desire.
Please don't tell me you lied,
when you said you would always love me.
Why can't you accept the simple fact,
that you were meant for me?
Don't let me turn away.

You are the song that I sing,
and the reason my soul screams.
If you say our world is a myth,
I will surely throw myself off a cliff.
Without you, my life is meaningless,
and a waste of valuable space.
Could you really let me walk out on you?

Take me in your welcome arms,
and hold me for the rest of eternity.
Protect me from the chaos of our everyday lives.
All I need is for you to catch me when I fall.
I'm begging you not to let me walk away.

Tell me that you want me,
just say that you need me.
All I'm asking is for you to love me.
This is your very last chance,
to keep me for yourself.
Because if you let me walk away,
I'm not ever coming back.
