Everything We Were

Everything We Were

A Poem by Meg

Cast aside,
Pushed away,
I have no reason left to stay.
First you love me,
Now you don't.
Tell me the truth.
Do you want me to choke?
You still want me,
But "it just won't work".
Everything we were is one big joke.
Let's be friends.
But wait, let's not.
I'm broken on the floor,
You're walking out the door.
Torn apart,
Another broken heart,
Just stop pretending to care.
We have nothing more to share.
Get out of my head,
Just leave me alone.
I'm tired of writing these love sick poems.
I'm your biggest regret.
The one you're dying to let go.
Good luck trying to forget,
Everything we were.

Meg
I don't really like the flow of this, but I'm not sure how to fix it. Anyway, tell me what you think. Advice is always welcome.
