Night

Night

A Poem by Meg
"

Okay, so I think this one is a little corny. But whatever. I still like it.

"

Enveloped in a mocking darkness,

and controlled by an empty silence.

My thoughts travel in vicious circles,

diminishing my sanity,

with every venomous word.

Lonely and vulnerable,

the forgotten hours posess me,

with devastating memories of

Betrayal,

Guilt,

and a love gone wrong.

And then...

Light.

Cascading through my window,

and wrapping me in a blanket

composed of the golden strands of hope.

The unearthly glow,

washed away my tears,

and brought me back to life.

And that’s when I realized,

that at the end of even the bleakest tunnel,

there is light.

I understood that someday

the heartache would end,

and my battered heart,

would truly mend.
