This Eternal Race

This Eternal Race

A Poem by Meg

I'm not ever gonna stop
until I reach the very tip top.
I won't be underrated,
I won't be deflated,
just so long as you are
never reinstated.
I radiate the essence of success
and achieve nothing less
then the very best.
With a divine sense of power,
I can finally take control
of your highest tower.
Honey, why can't you see?
I am only doing this so you
will return to me.
You are my motivation,
my preservation.
The only reason for this
love starvation.
I just need so badly to defeat you.
Please stop returning
to this hostile state of loathing.
After all, it was you
who turned my heart
rigid and stone cold.
I'm sorry that you hate,
to see me in such a
perfectly pleasant state.
But darling, it's not my fault
that you are no better then
second rate.
So when you go out,
on your next passionless date,
remember my accomplished face,
and the simple fact that I
will never lose
this eternal race.
