Feeble

Feeble

A Poem by Meghan Newton

A plethora of teeth and happiness erupts explosively from your face,
Concealing ever so effectively, the struggle of your grace,
Inside your soul the foundations are withering away,
An inevitable downfall that effects you each and every day,
A strong statuette of wisdom and wit is how you appear,
But feeble and insignificant is how you really feel,
Narcotics that promise eternal creative stimulation,
Are an incentive for you to continue daily waking,
Battling feelings of feebleness is what they supply,
The world becomes a canvas under the blue stained sky,
But this inspiration is only present for a limited period of time.

Author's Note

Meghan Newton
Started a project which entailed opening a dictionary at a random page and writing poetry (whether it's good or not is up for debate) based on the word that I landed on. "Feeble" was one of the first words I landed on during this process and this is what I created.

I would appreciate any feedback, negative or positive. I'm new and self-taught when it comes to poetry/writing in general.

Thank you for your time.
