Silence.

Silence.

A Poem by Megan
"

A random poem I wrote during math class...

"

Silence.

I am your best friend yet

Your worst enemy.

You never know when I will strike.

I bring fear to your heart as

Your friends turn their backs.

Whisper. Giggle. Point.

Laugh.

I am the voice inside your head

Screaming at you

“Why, why?”

As tears fall from your eyes

While you lay in bed at night.

Every day you fake a smile,

Their words wounding your soul.

Cutting. Stabbing. Bleeding.

Afraid.

You can’t speak yet

Your mind races.

You think you will never talk again.

I scream at you silently as

Your world slowly turns to gray.

Falling. Fading. Crying.

Dying.

Pros: You captured a good idea in your lines here. Silence really is a double edge sword, good and bad at the same time. I must admit, usually it's bad. At least for me. Anyway, you convey this idea quite well in your words. Despite the fact that it doesn't rhyme, it flows really well. And I like the group of single words at the end of each stanza.

Cons: Not much of a con, but perhaps you should have a fourth single word at the end of the 2nd stanza as you did with the 1st and 3rd. Or did that word carry over to the beginning of the 3rd stanza? If so, that's good.

Overall: This is a good poem. I'm sorry you had to go through whatever you did to write this, but sometimes the hard situations in life give us the most inspiration.

Wow, thats a deep poem. Reminds me of a poem by J.R.R. Tolkien that i really like, not that they are similar but his is about time and its a riddle, but you know that if you ever read the Hobbit. Sorry for getting side tracked but i think this is a good poem. A little depressing but not to overwhelming, my kind of poem. It really says a lot without so many words. I hope nothing to horible happened to you that caused you to write this.
