Rallying the PeopleA Chapter by Meghan Frederick
I haven't said anything to Skyler about the war between heaven and hell that is brewing. All she knows is that there is going to be a war and that we need to be prepared. Then again, she has no idea who my father is. I mean why would I tell her? I didn't want to scare her any more than she is now.
I was about to drift off to sleep when someone jumped on top of me. I opened my eyes and saw Skyler's smiling face above mine. I smiled back at her. "Hello, beautiful." "I just got a call from my uncle. He said something is wrong with his workers. The main description that he gave me was that their eyes were pure black," she pulled herself closer to me and wrapped her legs around me. "Uncle?" I questioned her. "He was a best friend of my dad's. He found me two and a half years ago. He's basically the only family I have, so I call him uncle." "Well, where does this uncle of yours live?" I put my arms around her waist. "About an hour from here. Do you think like this is becoming some sort of disease? Like a demon possession disease?" "Quiet possibly. It wouldn't surprise me," I mumbled. "What do you mean?" I looked at her. I didn't know what to say, but Artie saved me by walking into our room. "We're going on a trip?" He exclaimed. Skyler giggled. "Yes, Artie. We're going to see my uncle." I could tell how excited she was to see her uncle, but I knew this wasn't going to be good. We're going to have to fight off demons, and I know her last experience scared her badly. But maybe her uncle could help us somehow. Wait, hang on. "Skyler, how did your uncle know to tell you about their black eyes?" She turned to face me. "I've told him everything. About you two, the demon attack. Everything." Yeah, he's going to help us. © 2013 Meghan FrederickAuthor's Note
