It's Not Your Fault

It's Not Your Fault

A Poem by George Chiarovano

It’s not your fault

This is no one’s fault.

Emptiness fills me all the time.

But you are still fulfilling.

Hopelessness is all that’s here.

That doesn’t mean you’re not hopeful.

I am always angry and upset.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t make me happy.

It’s not you.

It has never been you.

It’s me.

I’m worthless.

You’re worth the world.

I’m nothing.

You’re everything to me.

You have a future.

I’m plagued by my past.

People like to be around you.

No one wants to be near me.

And I don’t blame them

You have been my saving grace.

I’m not cracked.

I’m not broken.

I’m shattered.

And no one can fix me.

Not even you.

This isn’t a bad thing.

You can finally stop worrying about me.

I’m done causing you stress.

I’m done causing you pain.

I’m done using you as a pillow for me to yell at.

You’re so much more than that.

You’re so much better than that.

The world needs you.

I need you.

I don’t deserve you.

You don’t need me.

The world doesn’t need me.

It’s not your fault.

It has never been your fault.
