I’m Happy If You Are

By George Chiarovano

Honestly, it’s hard to see

That you will never be with me

But I really am glad it’s true

Because I’m not good enough for you

Everytime I see your face

My heart immediately starts to race

And seeing you is all I seek

You’re the best part of my week

And as much as I’d love to be your friend

I’m afraid our friendship has to end

As I’m slowly going insane,

Because you are all that’s in my brain

And maybe isolation won’t work

And I might sound like a jerk

But listen please to my plea

I wish I could see you with me

But that will never happen cuz

I just don’t deserve your love.

I’m not sure that I’m okay

But it’s not your fault that I’m this way

I am poisoned by my past

And I’ve found that pain to last

Your perfection is a sin

And lights my fire that’s within

Just like the goddess who shares your name

You’re beautiful, wise and worth acclaim.

But unlike her you are humble and kind.

I wish you would escape my mind.

I feel trapped in a cycle of hell

I hate that I’m trapped under your spell

But under it I shall stay

Till the day I die, anyway

It’s probably better off like this

Because even though you I will miss

The happiness that you have brung.

You’ll be better in the long run.
