It Ends Tonight

It Ends Tonight

A Poem by Megan Leigh
"

I got inspired when I was cleaning my daddy's car.

"
I watch the water
As it runs over the dirt
Suffocating
Concealing
And forever hiding it's beauty
Only to be replaced with an inferior word,
Mud,
A nasty word that reminds you of dirty boys
I cannot help but to imagine
With all my deepest passion
How much alike we are
Shush, now
You know it's true
You cover me up
You hide me from the truth
With lies
Pure lies
The only thing you understand how to do.
You selfish imbecile
You hide my beauty
With the hate I have burning for you
And yet for some reason
I love you
I let you
As you suffocate me
You are slowly turning me into another inferior word
The single word that I am better than
Dead.
So now I'm just a lonely girl
Hoping to find your heart
Writing poems of my love
And how you'll never return it
And alas,
I've come to not blame you
I blame everything inside
The monster in me grows
Tonight I'll pick up a knife
I'll write that letter
I'll take those pills
And all the while
You'll never care.

fascinating journey that you took us on from mud to a feeling within. Very carefully laid out and good flow. I enjoyed this very much and look forward to more of your work.
