Chapter 1 - My Whole Life In A Day

Chapter 1 - My Whole Life In A Day

A Chapter by Megan J.
"

First chapter! I'm excited to start this book. I have actually finished one book called "The Serial Killer," but I haven't posted it yet. Super stoked for y'all to read this :)

"
My eyes fluttered open as I woke up from yet another strange dream. He kept on appearing, every night since my mother's death. "Die," he hissed at me. His face was covered with blood, a scar ran down his left eye and his skin was pale. Every time he grab his pocket knife and try to stab me, I'll wake up from this absurd nightmare. I shook the thought off and got ready for another day in school. "I'm off to school," I shouted to my dad as I walked passed the kitchen counter. "Jason wants you to go to 4th Avenue during your lunch time," said my dad. "I don't care," I said casually and walked out our old house. I walked slowly to school while getting lost in my own thoughts about my nightly dream. The whole day went by as a blur, like every other usual days. But the hell hasn't started yet.
When I got home, the whole house was oddly quiet. "Anyone home?" I asked as I closed the front door behind me. My voice echoed through the house, yet no one answered. I dropped my bag on the couch and walked towards the kitchen. I felt someone's footsteps following behind me. I turned around quickly and a large body pinned me against the wall.
"Didn't Dad told you to go to 4th Avenue during your lunch time?" asked my brother, Jason cruelly.
"Don't I have the right to choose whether I want to come or not?" I replied through gritted teeth.
"Not in this case," he whispered against my ear.
Jason slammed my body to the floor and started beating me up. He punched and scratched me multiple times, but I didn't punched back. Fighting back to Jason would be like fighting an alpha, when you're not even an omega. I don't want to be treated like crap, but what choice do I have? Chances for me to runaway safely would be one in a million. My dad and Jason would track me down easily, like as if I was just a lost and lonely dog.
All the pain from Jason's punches finally stopped. He stood up in front of me and looked straight through me.
"You know what happens when you disobey me," he said proudly like a boss.
I just laid there painfully on the floor. My head was pounding, hurting so badly. I heard Jason slammed the door shut and his car's engine grumble. I stood up, even though my whole body was in pain, I made my way to the bathroom. I cleaned all my cuts and sores. A large red scar was left on my abdomen. I winced as I put alcohol on it to prevent any infection. I looked at my face in the mirror. My eyes started getting teary as I looked at the same boy seven years ago. The same boy who used to be loud and noisy. The same boy who was always cheerful. The same boy who had the perfect life. I heard screaming and shouting in my head. The horror scene came back into my mind. That night when I regretted saying those words, "I hate you."
My thoughts were interrupted by a loud banging on the front door. I washed my hands and walked downstairs. I opened the door, expecting to see a cop arresting my brother, but I saw a cheerful girl around my age standing in front of me. Her eyes, her hair, everything was familiar. Too familiar.
"Can I help you?" I asked.
"Tyler?" she whispered.
Oh my god. No, it can't be. We haven't met since I moved here, I thought.
"I can't believe it's really you," she said.
"It's been a long time," I said while forcing a smile.
"I-I still can't believe it," she said awestruck.
"How did you recognized me?"
"The same beautiful honey brown eyes."
I stared at her for moment, letting my eyes looked her up and down. She had grown so much, and so have I. She had long wavy chestnut brown hair. Her hazel brown eyes always seem to glow in the dark like the stars in the sky. She was tall and beautiful, like she has been the last time I saw her.
"Tyler! Say goodbye to your little friend. We need to give my customer a visit!" shouted my dad from his parked car in front of our house.
"Didn't noticed he was here," I said.
"Well, you have to go and I have packing to do. See you tomorrow at school?" she asked with that same old dazzling smile.
I smiled in response. I walked over to my dad's car and got in.
"I never liked that girl," said my dad randomly.
"She was my best friend," I replied.
"She doesn't know you anymore. You're no longer that loud boy."
"Cammie will never betray me like you and Jason did!"
Dad stopped the car and stared at me like he was about to murder someone.
"Tyler, you know how I feel after your mother's death, she was-"
"Yeah, sure, everything to you. How do you think I felt the night she died? I was depressed! But I wasn't dumb enough to solve my depression the way you and Jason did."
I got out of dad's car and ran quickly. I didn't know where I was going. All I knew was that I wanted to be away from dad. Away from Jason. Away from everyone.

Great job on this one! I don't know what it is with me on reading things about lost family members, but it really entertains me. I will definitely follow this and read the next chapters!
Amazing writing skills, great concept, and altogether, a great chapter! Keep it up!
