Greener Grass

A poem looking at the common expression "the grass is greener on the other side."

Jaded eyes linger,
Enviously comparing
Their has and has-not's.

Lingering beyond the fence,
Seeing the shimmer
of tall green grass,
Comparing it to their mix
of floral weeds and twisted jade blades.

Jade eyes longing for
Shimmery tall grass,
Never seeing the choked roots beneath.
