Waiting for No OneA Poem by Megan F.A girl waits for a prince we all know won't comeShe lies there on the ground, A rosy cheek A blood red smile As the sun rises, the moon comes Waiting for her knight in armor
Velveteen shines in the sun The grass is impatient Bristly and sharp Needles slit her porcelain skin Blood stains
She's dripping red Like the rising sun above Crimson and furious Yet striking all the same She can see nothing else
The world is slowly tilting Hunger gnaws her stomach Ruthless and desperate But she craves for nothing else Than her prince
There is naught here Possibly for miles around, she's reluctant to know If its her prince That shadow bursting in the distance She closes her eyes
In the darkness she recieves The softest touch on her cheek As cold as ice, just as smooth A finger to her ashen lips And nothing more © 2012 Megan F.Author's Note
