Hurtful MemoriesA Poem by Megan ReneeWe met in the café. You bought a smoothie, For yourself. And a latte, For me. Smiling. I like you. A lot. For the first time in days, Weeks, Months, I like someone. And a lot. You are different and unique. I fall. Hard. But you hurt me. Days, Weeks, Months, Go by. I think that I got you off of my mind. I’m at the café. The barista, She calls a smoothie. A simple, mango Smoothie. And now you’re in my head. Spinning, Twisting, Lurching. Memories of you envelope me. Dancing. Laughing. Kissing. Tangled in the sheets, You say that you need me. Your eyes capture mine. We spiral out of control, together. You, me; together. Waking up the next day, Unwillingly leaving your room. I am Floating, Soaring, Happy. That same night, you end me. You don't need me. You need "time," "Space," "To think." Confused. Sad. I am nothing. I am a burnt out flame in which you no longer desire. Hurting. Crying. Dying. I remember you are no longer mine. © 2015 Megan ReneeReviews
