Then

Then

A Poem by MeganCruickshank

I feel as if
I feel for you
nothing like I used to.
My breath moves
as quickly as the wind does
when your gaze
falls into my iris
like the rain falls onto a lake
and makes little ripples,
me dear, golden
you are all you
could be to me
my definition of love
begins with the word you,
and i know
that you can wash yourself
with sticks and stones
and you say your bones are fine
but your heart hurts
i know
i will help
when you can't glisten
or listen to what i say
but darling i will help
when you let me
you are
who i have looked for
until now
because
i am eternal
and that was then.

I think this piece is a very good. It is an exceptional poem and I was glued to the screen and wanted to continue reading. And, I agree, the ending was sensational. This poem shows a very strong depth in character
