Call You Home

Call You Home

A Poem by MeganCruickshank

I want you to know one thing:
If I was to walk one thousand miles
Across thorns of roses
Or rough waves of the ocean,
My heart would still yearn for yours.

If my lips could only mouth one word,
It would be your name
And yours alone.
I want you to know that if your bones were too distant
or too far from mine,
I would still call you home.

And if one day,
You don't feel the same,
I wouldn't cry or feel pain.
Next to the ocean
My arms would be raised
And there I would be tied to you.

So one day
You would find me again.
With thorns in your feet
And wetted hair from the ocean,
And there I would know
You heart would still yearn for mine
Like my heart would still yearns for yours.

This is very sweet, but at the same time slightly dangerous due to the lengths that the narrator would go through.
