Your Ghost

Your Ghost

A Poem by Megan Kirby

I felt your warm moist breath on my neck,
     as a whisper.
A quiet reminder of,
     our last romantic tryst.
Yet when I turned, with huge smile on my face,
you were no where to be seen...

So smile quickly left my face,
     and happiness returned to anguish.
As I realized I was just dumbstruck in that moment,
by the thought of you again.
How could you be in the here and now,
when you're but bones now, my friend?
