Sea of Confusion

Sea of Confusion

A Poem by Megan Kirby

Swimming in our sea of confusion,
I feel like you're letting me down.
But can you really blame me?
When you sit and watch me drown.

The weight of doubt you tied to my ankles,
Is pulling me down.
My heart fills with betrayal,
As waves thrash me around.

My life flashes before me,
So many moments relived.
My heart fills with regret,
for all my life left unlived.

I keep fighting,
Trying to get free.
But my last breath runs out,
You've killed me.

But in my dying moment,
I don't blame you.
I understand,
You were confused too.
