Your Crime

Your Crime

A Poem by Megan Kirby

Every time I close my eyes,
I'm taken back to that day.
When my trust was broken,
My innocence raped away.

Chains of memories lock me in,
I can't escape my past.
Images of the smoking gun,
Held tightly in your grasp.

You forced me to take it,
Then blamed your crime on me.
So I wait in these chains,
Wait to be set free.
