Today's Tomorrow's Yesterday

Today's Tomorrow's Yesterday

A Poem by Megan E Twenter

Forgiveness is all I ask

from you and from myself

big mistakes are my forté

but they keep happening, day by day

This life is a wasteland

were thrown out to survive

I no longer have your hand

I cannot bear to revive

Your smile stills lights my way

when my world has gone dark

but I know the lights will fade

when our hearts are apart

I want the world to know

I admit I was wrong

I pushed you to go

away from where you belong, next to me

And my heart keeps breaking

with every love song

and this world has taken

everything that kept me strong

While to get over you

that day will cease to come

and I wish my tears

could bring you home

Now you're gone, there you go

and you're not coming back

my life has shattered

weakening my soundtrack

You are my bestfriend

and of those I have few

but I don't know how to simply say

that I'm missing you, everyday

Each and every day

your voice still haunts my mind

those these memories fade away

it's in my heart you'll find

That I've given everything I have

and every step you take

carries me away, and i can't stay

cause today's only tomorrow's yesterday
