Eyelids

Eyelids

A Poem by Megan E Twenter

spinning down

falling inside

gasping for air

grasping for the sides

strainging to see

no lights in sight

tryingto feel

but its numb inside

keep falling and spinning

heart races for life

and all i did

was close my eyes

Ugh, this reminds me of vertigo. For a long time I couldn't close my eyes without falling over and wanting to vomit. Therefore, as you can obviously tell, sleeping was difficult and I didn't get any of it for several months, apart from when I'd collapse from exhaustion and sleep for a few hours a week. I hope you don't ever get this feeling, but you have described it very accurately. Eeek.
