Autumn Breeze

Autumn Breeze

A Poem by Megan E Twenter

a whistle in the wind
the leaves on breeze
a dew on the grass
I wait for nights like these

A warm cozy hoodie
and a pair of high socks
a dimly lit fire
I await for the knock

a haunted feeling
a ghost of my reflection
it must be October
my hearts main selection

the scent of nostalgia
cinnamon and cloves
a long stroll through town
as the darkness encloses

there's nothing like fall
to let the loneliness rise
to miss the touch of a hand
or the warmth of a smile

the air grows colder
while the fire inside burns
the wood cracks and smolders
while the heart sits and yearns

there's nothing like autumn
to stir up your days
the summer has melted
winter's on its' way

the frost that will follow
the ice that will freeze
those leaves fell to the ground
there's no more autumn breeze

Autumn
My favorite time of year
I can read this, close my eyes and smile and I'm in heaven
This poem is like a warm blanket 😊
