Missing

Missing

A Poem by Megan E Twenter

Its a windy night
admist the month of November
and the last taste of love
I cant seem to remember

I miss you when it's cold
and this bed begs for your body
To you my heart is sold
Even when the road seems rocky

Its been raining for days
Since my hand has been in yours
When you dropped me off at home
The clouds brought in the storm

I cant say Im sad
When Im smiling in my sleep
But I can say Im mad
knowing you're not next to me

I miss you when its midnight
And Im wide awake alone
Your eyes become my sight
You heart is what you've shown

Its funny how this works
When Ive known you for a while
And we talk like it's forever
As if I knew you as a child

Your life is like a movie
All played out, I hit rewind
Hope you can start from the beginning
Where I am yours, and you are mine

The voice that tells me stories
Of the pain and all the heartbreaks
is the voice not filled with worries
As if I'm counted as a mistake

I miss you when its morning
though my windows shade the sun
the clock will just remind me
That next to me, lies no one

I hate that I'm still waiting
until the end of every week
to kiss those lips I dream of
for in those arms I find sleep

And I know that Im impatient
But Id wait for the end of time
For you to say the words
That let the world know you are mine

Im wandering in limbo
as I watch the minutes fly
Im counting down the hours
until our next hello, goodbye

I could sit and watch you
while that smile haunts my mind
and when that laughter fills my heart
I know we're gonna be just fine

I miss you when I'm with you
because it only last so long
but I know again I'll see you
not a single thing feels wrong
