It's Funny

It's Funny

A Poem by Megan E Twenter

You write songs about love
The girl that broke your heart
But what about the one
That searched for all the broken parts

You write songs about leaving
When you're never here to live
You're not stuck here dreaming
about all the good you have to give

I think it's kind of funny
And I just cant help but laugh
How you think you're so relevant
But you're just a part of the past
So please tell me how you plan
On never calling me again
And how I put in all this time
To be just another friend

And keep whispering all the secrets
That have already been aired
When you were thinking only of yourself
And no one's feelings could be spared

I dont understand the selfishness
Admist the air you breathe
Your infectious lies and bitterness
From the surface no one sees

I think it's kind of funny
And I just cant help but laugh
How you think you're so relevant
But you're just a part of the past
So please tell me how you plan
On never calling me again
And how I put in all this time
To be just another friend

Youre dumb for getting close
And I'm worse for my warm welcome
All the little things nobody knows
Lost to the ears of a hellion

I cant say that I blame you
When I threw myself your way
But were all just simple people
Trying to live to the next day

I think it's kind of funny
And I just cant help but laugh
How you think you're so relevant
But you're just a part of the past
So please tell me how you plan
On never calling me again
And how I put in all this time
To be just another friend

Dont act like youre oblivious
I knew your plan all along
But atleast I'll never suffer
Being another girl in one of your songs

I think it's kind of funny
And I just cant help but laugh
How you think you're so relevant
But you're just a part of the past
So please tell me how you plan
On never calling me again
And how I put in all this time
To be just another friend

Dont act like youre oblivious
I knew your plan all along
But atleast I'll never suffer
Being another girl in one of your songs
