Oldie But Goodie

Oldie But Goodie

A Poem by Megan E Twenter
"

Wrote this senior year, just found it in a box.

"
I've known mean, but not like this
I've known deceit, but this is entirely blown out of proportion
Some say home is where your heart is
But what if your heart is broken
With each half running in opposite directions?
Where is home when your heart is lost?
Home is where you are loved.
Home is where you wake up and want to fall asleep
Home is the truest sense of happiness, comfort
And you don't know but
you were my home until you were gone
What about a friend?
What is a friend?
A friend is someone that can instantly tell
when all is not well
And then makes an effort to make you laugh
at all costs
A friend will tell you they love you
and miss you after the most horrid of fights
But then again, what is love?
I think it's when you know you'd
do anything for said person
through the fires of hell
to the ends of the earth
And I will love you forever
As my home, as my friend.

RIP CJS <3
