I Found You

I Found You

A Poem by Megan E Twenter

I met you in the darkest street
of the darkest town next to the darkest sea
And somehow you had shined a light
never have I seen a shard so bright

Wait here, and I'll be back my love
So far to be, so young to meet
Push me with the slightest shove
right in between, there's you and me

Await for distant hours and the weeks that pass beside
Await for a cold shower and nothing left to hide
I'll find you and I'll warm thee
Not from the skin but from the deep

And will you set ablaze my mind
with wishful looks, those dark brown eyes
and pray that those words are all but mine
in between these troubled times

I'm here my friend, don't hesitate
I'm only kept far, these miles away
Pick me up, its a date
This spectrum fades from gray
